This movie leads to anger, anger leads to hate...hate leads to bad memories.

When one sets out to create something, it is assumed that one is not trying to piss off the totality of a fan base. But it is not known what lies within the mind of such an evil genius such as George Lucas. The entire Star Wars universe was birthed from his brain; what else could be lurking in the dark corners of his galaxy? Anyway, thanks for the first three, George!  

Your Out of Memory boys are talking Star Wars this week! But there is no Luke or Leia or even Han Solo (Ford or Ehrenreich). They're taking it all the way back to the prequels, specifically Episode 1! This is the movie that started the love/hate relationship with this franchise if you don't count the Ewoks. Chris and AJ talk about the reedits of the movie in an attempt to salvage it, the unnecessary inclusion of politics as the primary conflict and of course Podracing! Also the tragically underused Darth Maul. They had a horrible time rewatching it for your enjoyment! So Enjoy, dammit! And may the Force be with you!

We are Defenders of the Night! We are Podcasters!

The sun sets and the moon glows perilously bright. Stone skin illuminates and cracks as once again the Defenders of the Night shatter their craggy cocoons. They stretch their wings and flex their stiff muscles. What fresh danger awaits them in this strange city of New York? Whatever it is, they will face it as a clan. They are Gargoyles!  

This was one of Chris and AJ's favorite episodes to record! They excavate their memories of a treasured cartoon from the nineties, Gargoyles, and revel in the twists and turns of this masterpiece. The clan's all here: Goliath, Hudson, Brooklyn, Broadway, Lexington, Bronx, Angela and Elisa Maza! Plus all the bad guys! They discuss the serialized and complicated nature of the season arcs, the historical context of gargoyles and why, oh why, Disney canceled such an amazing show! Enjoy!

It's a sad day when a part of your childhood shutters their doors, be it Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, KB Toys or even the indoor playplace Discovery Zone. But Chris and AJ are Open for Business this episode with their fond and not so fond memories of these relics of the past. Do they deserve a place in our memory still or can we erase them just as they have been erased from the building fronts?

Memory of Turtle Power!

Mutagenic ooze is a funny thing, don't ya know. It's like the old saying goes: Whatever kind of animal you're near when you're oozed, you'll turn into it. That's what they say in ye olde sewers of the 1980s. Also, never trust a man who's dressed like a tin can opener. That's just sensible advice in any situation. And perhaps I might be so bold as to say: Stay Radical.  Chris and AJ are tackling a cutural behemoth here so be patient with them; there's a hell of a lot of ground to cover. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a touchstone of many 80s children and have stuck with your hosts. In this episode they deal with the Animated Series and the Playmates Toy Line! The day slowly washes over the beer bottles, shot glasses and sticky spots of mystery that linger on the table after a night of unbridled frivolity just as fallen soldiers litter the bloody battlefield. The night may have infused the imbibers with superhuman story-telling abilities but the light of the morning rips that all away.   

Christopher and AJ are joined by a Very Special Guest, Girl On Couch, as they navigate their memories of drinking as younger people and then re-experience those poisons all over again. Back to back.
