The Symbionese Liberation Army was a left wing group active from 1973-1975 and was considered by the FBI as a terrorist organization. They are probably most remembered for their kidnapping of media tycoon William H. Hearst's daughter Patty Hearst in which they brainwashed her in to becoming a member. Although claiming to want peace in the world, they commited bank robberies, bombings, and murder and were involved in one of the largest police shootouts in history where over 9,000 rounds were fired between them and the police.
