About the exercise: "Safe place" is a mental exercise in which you visualize a peaceful, comfortable place to calm down and deal with stress or painful emotions. You create a personal fantasy place or use a real, safe place by focusing on your senses: imagining details, listening to sounds, smelling smells, and experiencing a calm feeling. The exercise allows you to return to this place in your imagination when you need to find peace and security.
