Teaching Yourself to Learn

Over Achieving For The Wrong Reasons with Catherine Morris

Listen Later

When we are children, sometimes we are influenced by beliefs which are not always going to be the same as we grow wiser, with more experience and build our identity over our lifetime. Holly is joined with new friend Catherine Morris on the Podcast today. Catherine has enjoyed a varied career, from working in a local ironing parlour to qualified primary school teacher for 20 years before moving into secondary education, a story similar to Holly. Listen as they discuss:

  • How you can't live nearly half a century on this planet and not have trials and challenges.
  • Whatever it is you’re dealing with, is what you’re dealing with, in all shapes and sizes
  • Labels we give ourselves and the responses that arise.
  • How trying to be humble can lead us to play small and how life is too short to play small.

Unfortunately, past controlling relationships have meant that she previously over achieved in order to prove herself. Through this story you can hear how Catherine has overcome many adversities and has a passion for inspiring and helping others.
