David Eby called a snap election with Donald Trump front and centre. Then an Angus Reid poll put the BC Conservatives eight points ahead. Is this a warning about the political strategy Carney is counting on?

In this episode, I break down Eby’s election gamble and explain why I think campaigning against Trump has an expiry date. Canadians can dislike the American president and still demand answers from their own government.

You don’t get a free pass on affordability, housing or your record just because you point south.

The BC election isn’t decided. Angus Reid’s September 24 poll put the Conservatives at 43% and the NDP at 35%, while a separate Liaison poll released September 23 had the NDP ahead. These are competing snapshots, and my argument about what they mean for Carney is political commentary.

The NDP calls it an information session. According to an attendee who was inside the room, it looked more like political obedience training.

A man reportedly asked for help understanding Alberta’s referendum questions because English was not his first language. Instead of being directed to clear information, the attendee says he was simply told how to vote: no, no, no and Option 1.

In this episode, I explain why that should bother every Albertan, what Option 2 actually means, and why the NDP and Forever Canadian are working so hard to keep Alberta locked into the status quo.

Option 2 does not make Alberta independent the following morning. It directs the Alberta government to begin the constitutional process required to hold a future binding referendum. It gives Alberta leverage and sends Mark Carney a message that cannot be ignored.

Your vote belongs to you. Not the NDP. Not Forever Canadian. Not any politician standing at the front of a room with a script.

On October 19, I am voting Option 2.

What concrete step should Ottawa take first to protect Canadian resource jobs?

Political commentary and opinion. The Belarus potash story concerns negotiations, not a completed deal. Bill C-9 received royal assent in June; C-34 and C-22 are at different parliamentary stages.

Mark Carney’s EU plan deserves serious scrutiny. What would Canada agree to, who gets the final say, and where could this relationship lead?

In this episode, I react to Carney’s remarks about closer ties with the European Union and explain why I believe Canadians need clear answers before supporting any agreement.

We get into the proposed associate relationship, the difference between parliamentary approval and a direct public vote, and the questions Canadians should ask about obligations, accountability and sovereignty.

My concern? The announcement alone doesn’t tell us where this could eventually go. Canadians deserve to understand the terms before being asked to support them.

You can disagree with our arguments. We can question yours right back. Having held political office doesn’t make your opinion worth more than the Canadians listening.

These audiences are real people with real concerns. They work, pay taxes, raise families and live with the decisions politicians make.

Whether we’re questioning Jason Kenney, Mark Carney or anyone else, we have every right to participate in the conversation.
