I had a call with a client, I think a day or so ago. And, the was bad. It was really bad. Basically, it was starting the week going from fully staffed to not staffed at all. He had a situation to where all of his employees walked out. He was contemplating a lot of things, business, how to continue. I can remember those types of things. Sometimes you contemplate life in general, you know, but as we begin to talk, I begin to tell him, look, man, you've overcome adversity how many times in your business, And you can look back at those times when you got smack in the mouth, and your ability to overcome adversity puts you ahead of where you were at then. How many times did that happen? Named off a number. I was like, exactly. That's how you're wired. That's how successful business owners are wired. We don't let adversity keep us from what's ours. We don't let adversity keep us from being successful. We take the steps necessary to overcome the adversity. That's what sets apart winners from losers. Had an individual make a comment one time, "I wish I had your life." Well, no you don't. What you wished that you had is all the good sh*t, cause you don't want all the bad sh*t. And unfortunately, a lot of people only see the highlight reel and when they only see the highlight reel, they think that the highlight reel is easy to obtain and it's not the highlight reel that takes work. It takes constant effort, takes constant struggle. You get kicked back a few times. You turn around, you keep going. But the adversity is what builds you into a strong character that can handle anything that comes your way. And so I'll always, my wife always jokes with me. "Do you want their life?" And I don't want anybody's life. Sometimes they have things that I want, but I don't want their life cause I don't know what they had to do to get to where they're at. I like my life. I like the fact that I've been able to overcome and I wanna continue to be able to overcome. Sometimes I want their sh*t. I just don't want their life. And so knowing that I can overcome adversity tells me I can have whatever I want. It's the same thing with you. Think about all the times you've overcome adversity. You were in the adversity. Man, am I ever gonna get out of this? This really sucks, blah, blah, blah, three months later, where were you? You were out of it. Most likely adversity doesn't last that long. And if it does, you're eventually gonna be out of it. At some point, you came out of the adversity. You might be in adversity right now. Think back to the last time you were stuck in the pile of muck. Didn't know if you were gonna be able to move and eventually slowly you came out of it, probably stronger, tougher, wiser, more reserved, or resolved I should say of being a better person of overcoming more of achieving more. That's what adversity does. It creates that resolve to be the best you can be. And so next time you get smacked in the face. I don't necessarily say embrace the adversity, but understand that you're gonna learn a lesson, take the lesson on whatever that lesson is. Do better, become the best version that you can at that time, and move forward because the adversity is what makes you strong. The adversity is what's gonna make you DMN8 the day.
