In this episode I interview Dr Erin Bowe. Erin is a clinical and perinatal psychologist that specialises in birth trauma, and more specifically birth worker trauma. I am thrilled to interview Erin as not only does she have incredible knowledge and expertise on birth and breastfeeding trauma, she is also a mum of two little girls. Erin experienced her own trauma with not one but two traumatic births, and then went on to have two very different breastfeeding experiences. Erin's first breastfeeding experience was extremely difficult, from incredible pain and attachment issues that it got to the point where she chose to exclusively pump and feed her baby expressed breastmilk from the bottle; to a much more positive experience feeding her second. One that did not come easy though, this took a lot of work and education starting in pregnancy. Erin kindly also gives the listeners some advice and pearls of wisdom about overcoming birth and breastfeeding trauma. You can find Erin on Instagram @doctorerinbowe and her website www.doctorerin.com.au Erin also runs the podcast Birth Trauma Training for Birth Workers.
