For many of us, change feels uncomfortable because it disrupts the familiar. As human beings, we crave stability, routines, and a sense of control. When change comes along, it can feel like the ground beneath us is shifting.

Psychologically, our resistance to change is rooted in a few key factors:

  1. Fear of the Unknown
When we don’t know what’s coming next, our brains naturally default to caution. The uncertainty of change triggers anxiety, making us feel hesitant or even paralyzed.
  2. Loss of Identity
Transitions often challenge how we see ourselves. For example, leaving a job might make you question your sense of purpose, or ending a relationship might make you feel untethered.
  3. Emotional Overload
Change often brings a mix of emotions—grief, excitement, fear, hope. Managing these feelings all at once can be exhausting.

Recast from Season 1. We are taking off the summer. Check out this re-release.
