In everything there is form and function; what a thing is, and what it does. In the language of Jewish philosophy, this is the division between chomer and tzurah.

In an ideal scenario, chomer and tzurah align perfectly. Form follows function, and function informs form. Great design is reflective of this core principle.

But not always do form and function align...
