The world observed World AIDS Day but despite technological advancements, HIV and AIDS continue to claim many victims, whose conditions have been exacerbated by COVID-19. Although the world has come a long way since the sombre AIDS epidemic days of the 1980s – with HIV no longer being viewed as the death sentence it once was – it is vital that the condition is detected as soon as possible.
