According to Statistics South Africa, the national disability prevalence rate is 7.5 percent, yet employees with disabilities make up only 1 percent of the workforce. Whilst young people have been the most affected, society has paid little attention to persons with disabilities and how they can access employment opportunities. Due to the education system, only 4% can accommodate persons with disabilities and limited to access educational opportunities.
