In human psychology, the breaking point is a moment of stress in which a person breaks down or a situation becomes critical... I could not imagine any more of a critical situation and facing a financial crisis, health crisis, liberty crisis, not to mention the extraction of wealth from within our country which renders our people without means of education and income. I believe we can all agree that these are very dark times, from which reveals who we REALLY are - and what exactly our political class is REALLY doing.
The intensity of this environmental stress might be the catalyst which transforms our broken system. A system which; metaphorically, has its boot on the neck of our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
Who governs? Who really rules? To what extent is the broad body of U.S. citizens sovereign, semi- sovereign, or largely powerless? These questions have animated much important work in the study of American politics...
The central point that emerges from our research is that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while mass-based interest groups and average citizens have little or no independent influence. Our results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.
What is the solution?? The solution is getting money out of politics. There are various endeavors at the present to remedy such a dilemma. WOLF-PAC, started by Cenk Uygur of THE YOUNG TURKS, as well as an abundant efforts in legislating Anti-Corruption Acts that have been proposed by principal driven representatives from both sides of the aisle. Politicians are supposed to represent us. But most Americans have a near-zero impact on public policy.
America's corrupt political system is a complex problem. The American Anti-Corruption Act is a comprehensive solution.
The American Anti-Corruption Act sets a standard for city, state, and federal laws that break big money's grip on politics. It will:
• Stop political bribery by making it illegal for lobbyists to lobby a politician and donate to their campaign. You can lobby, or you can donate, but you can't do both.
• End secret money so Americans know who is buying political power.
• Fix our broken elections so the people, not the political establishment, are the ones in control.
