Episode Summary: “Overshadowed by Potential” (S3, E13)
In this episode I unpack my relationship with potential—my own and other people’s. I talk about how the prophetic part of us can sense what’s possible in the future, but how that gift can turn into an inner critic that obsesses over where we “should” be by now. I reflect on growing up with adults projecting their ideas of success onto me, how that wired a harsh “should/shouldn’t” voice inside, and why that language feels like an attack on our freedom. I also touch on comparison—how measuring myself against others or even my own imagined future self just drains joy from where I am right now.
From there, I reframe potential as a byproduct, not the goal. The only place I can actually live is the present moment, so my future is shaped by what I do now, not by chasing a fantasy version of myself. I share how I regroup my day, look for tiny adjustments rather than harsh judgment, and intentionally celebrate small wins so I’m not blind to the progress I am making.
Finally, I dive into spiritual timing. I use the image of a flower to explain why growth can’t be rushed—only accelerated through openness, not force. “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast” becomes a mantra for honoring my unique pace instead of living in survival mode or trying to control other people’s evolution. I close by inviting you to ride your own wave—no delay, no rush—and to use potential as a compass, while letting fulfillment live in the now.
