Dwight is angry and admits to having been a bit short tempered lately. His kids don’t want to come to the UK. WTF? We haven’t yet figured out how we’re recording the podcast overseas, but we’re trying to! Patty offers to help Dwight to alleviate his stress and long to-do list. Diving into more emails, we start off talking about our feelings around the upcoming UK tour. Someone is interested in being walked through the process of creating a particular song, and knowing why we decided to make certain changes along the way. Patty has a terrible memory for their songs’ processes, and how they came to be their final versions. Dwight admits to never keeping alternate versions of songs. When he makes a decision to change something, even something as drastic as the entire groove, tempo or key of a song, he’ll permanently delete things and move on. He recalls that Neon Prayer Flags was almost a country-like song. It’s important for us to be decisive. Luckily we both like similar things and we’re able to agree on decisions quickly. We have a new. acoustic version of “Human Beings,” and a cover of Stereophonics’ “Dakota,” (that some of our patrons have already), but we don’t plan on creating more acoustic versions of songs off the Human Beings album. Fun fact: Our song “AnythingFor You” was written for a movie, but another band took that slot. Dwight thinks it was Coldplay. We were going to get to more emails, but the conversation quickly turned to into a band meeting by mistake. Dwight is missing Patty’s Level 1 improv performance. Patty shares some ambiance she recorded while in Tulum.
