There seems to be a tendency for people to assume that those who have become aware of their own flaws and acknowledge them may appear to be wearing them as a badge of honor. Perhaps in some, sure. But in many cases, this is very far from the truth. There is also a danger in unveiling your flaws and darker parts to people who are unable to handle that properly.
