Afia Chin is part of the first generation of her family born on this landmass, with a diverse cultural background that is the lifeblood of her craft.

Born in Brooklyn and bred in the DMV, she is a multifaceted artist whose creative roots were first steeped in the literary arts, music, and various means of visual art mediums, and her spoken word abilities birthed from a theater background which brings life to her lifelong writing passions. Through these means, she is able to bring awareness to her family's non- profit organization as the Executive Director of Labour of Love, which has provided educational and healthy living resources to rural communities in Ghana since 2002.
