MetaSoccer is also part of a new generation of video games in which users can earn cryptocurrency for their contributions to the ecosystem. These games are known as "Play to Earn".
While MetaSoccer uses the term metaverse, it is primarily a management and strategy game rather than kicking a ball in 3D. At present, most P2E football games on the market are in partnership with real clubs and in-game characters are digital versions of actual athletes.
MetaSoccer also presented Thomas Partey as the first real-life soccer player that will be available to join a lucky team in MetaSoccer, as an NFT playable character.
To make the community at the center of this new football metaverse, the team behind MetaSoccer has created the $MSU token, with which holders will be able to participate in key votes for the future of MetaSoccer.
$MSU is an ERC-20 token used to perform the main actions within the game. It will be accompanied by a secondary token, which is used to perform minor actions in the game. However, at the time of this recording, there’s no additional mention of the second token in its whitepaper.
Initially, a supply of 360M $MSU will be minted with 35% allocated to Playing & Staking Rewards, 20% to the Ecosystem, 20% to Private Sale, 5% to Public Sale, and 20% to the Team and Advisors.
