We continue our exploration of venture capital activity in the Pittsburgh region today at noon as we welcome Diane Sterthous, Venture Capital Advisor - PA Department of Community and Economic Development. Diane will detail how the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority Venture Investment Program (VIP) is addressing the financing needs of technology-oriented businesses by increasing the amount of available risk capital. VIP has invested more than $100 million in venture capital funds having recently put $5 million into three state venture capital funds, including 412 Venture Fund.
