Greg and Dan talk to Lindsay Vlaminck and Karoline Seitz-Goddard from CREW 309 (Cancer Recovery Empowering Women) about their personal journeys and the mission behind the organization. Lindsay, with a background in rowing, and Karoline, who was completely new to the sport, share how this women’s rowing team in Peoria was created to support breast cancer survivors.
As survivors themselves, they describe how CREW 309 provides both a challenging and peaceful experience - using exercise to help reduce cancer risks while fostering strength, resilience, and community. They also touch on the difference between rowing on a current like the Illinois River versus a still lake.
With about 75 active members, all funds raised go directly toward coaches, equipment, utilities, and everything needed to keep the program strong. Learn more or get involved at www.crew309.org
