Ramon Laureano’s RBI single drove in Xander Bogaerts with the winning run after Closer Robert Suarez blew another save, and Ace Michael King’s 1st start since May 18th ended with the Padres’ 6th walk-off win of the season, 5-4 in 0 innings at Petco Park.

 

King, returning from a shoulder injury, pitched 2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1.

 

Bogaerts homered, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 more to lead the San Diego attack. Bogey hit a solo homer in the 2nd inning and ripped an RBI single in the 3rd, driving in the 1st 2 runs for the Padres against his former team.

 

Suarez blew the lead- and the save- in the 9th inning, giving up an RBI double to Roman Anthony before settling down and keeping the score tied.

 

Jeremiah Estrada went 2 innings, striking out 5 while allowing just one hit. Estrada has 12 strikeouts in his last 5 innings of (scoreless) work. Jason Adam (4-3) picked up the win

 

Estrada, Adrian Morejon, Mason Miller, and Adam combined for 11 strikeouts in scoreless innings of relief. Suarez added 2 more punch-outs, adding to the Pads’ total of 5.
