Page of Swords
Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.
What we explore in this episode:
The Page of Swords as a card of curiosity, fresh perspectives, and beginning again
Symbolism across decks: birds, air, youthful energy, and budding awareness
Why this card invites us to reflect on defensiveness, openness, and the desire to learn
How youthful energy and inexperience can hold both possibility and challenge
Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:
Anima Mundi Tarot Deck by Megan Wyreweden
The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu
Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom
In this episode, we explore the Page of Swords, a card of early insight, sharp observation, and learning through experience. This is the fresh start after the heaviness of the Ten. The Page doesn’t know everything yet, but they’re open. They’re watching, asking questions, testing ideas, and beginning to name the patterns they see.
Sometimes this energy can feel defensive or uncertain, especially when we’ve been wounded. But the Page invites us to soften. To stay curious. To recognize the mental weather for what it is, and to stay grounded in our growing wisdom.
This card reminds us that learning to think clearly, communicate wisely, and observe without absorbing everything is a practice. We don’t have to get it perfect, we just have to be willing to begin.

Season 6 - Suit of Wands
Season 7 - Suit of Pentacles
Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Acolyte (reversed). This card is all about the early stages of learning, new projects, and the path of growth. Reversed, it asks us to be patient. You may not be where you want to be just yet, but everything you’ve been practicing is still helping you grow. The journey is valid, even when it feels slow.
Reflective prompts on this card:
Where am I being too hard on myself for not being “there” yet?
What have I already learned that I haven’t given myself credit for?
How can I return to a mindset of curiosity instead of self-judgment?
