On April 21st the Alberta Government announced plans to push through legislation named Bill 71 that would allow for working Albertans (both part time and full time) to have access to paid time away to receive their Covid-19 vaccinations. Bill 71 would make it illegal for a workplace to fire or discipline any worker for taking time to fulfill their scheduled vaccinations and would allow for two appointments if two doses are required.
The provincial government is asking that Albertan workers work with their employers to ensure proper coverage would remain in their workplaces as needed.
