Speaking Out on Pain Management

Pain Contracts

Listen Later

Telligen host Brandi Wamhoff, MPH takes you on a deep dive into the complex world of pain management during the first episode of the Telligen QIN Speaking out on Pain Management podcast series. Today’s focus is pain contracts. A pain contract is an agreement that lays out a pain management treatment plan to ensure patients and providers are on the same page before opioid therapy begins.  Licensed clinical social worker and alcohol and substance abuse counselor Jamie Mirocha, internist and geriatrician Dr. Karyn Leible and chronic pain patient Paris Willis explore whether or not pain contracts establish trust between a patient and a healthcare provider, improve patient quality of life and encourage use of alternate treatments as patients embark on the journey of managing their chronic pain.

Be sure to join us as we continue to speak out on the complex issues surrounding pain management and opioid use throughout our Pain Management podcast series.
