Painting In Love's Eyes.

The sable strokes vermillion...

as gentle hands

stroke with sheer perfection,

pigments of imagination made flesh,

mixing the ingredients

to colour my world afresh.

Pallet my hues in loves complexion

glazed with undertones

that flush in the presence of fine art.

Passion is stirred as two souls blend

in the whispering brush of inspired desire,

Soft undulations on silk are pressed,

as one hard handle ending in stiff bristle,

is immersed in smooth oils applied

creating a beauty beyond critique

spoken in any other manner except sighs,

as vermillion flames in painted eyes.

Colours merge to tertiary tones

in a blending of hues complete.

The buttered brush in dipping play

excites the silken sweet.

Thus somewhere in the afterglow

on a canvas of thoughts realized,

still wet with the sheen of two hungry hearts,

a poem is born on expectant breath.
