The government of Pakistan has declared a state of emergency following the Flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains across much of the country. Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority reported that the death toll from the ongoing disaster has reached 1,033 people after new fatalities were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southern Sindh provinces. Prime minister Shahbaz Sharif called upon the international community to help with the relief efforts particularly in the worst areas badly affected by heavy rain and flooding.

Here in Australia, community organisations are running a flood relief appeal for the victims of floods in Pakistan.
