Palm Sunday represents the moment Jesus boldly declared himself King by
riding a donkey into Jerusalem, fulfilling ancient prophecy. The crowds
responded with palm branches and shouts of Hosanna, recognizing him as
their long-awaited Messiah. When Jesus cleansed the temple, he wasn't
opposing commerce but removing barriers that prevented people from
accessing God. His anger was directed at religious leaders who created
obstacles instead of bridges for those seeking God. Today, we're called to
wave our own palm branches by inviting others to meet Jesus and removing
barriers that keep people from encountering God's love.
