Attorney General Pam Bondi has made a forceful declaration following the brutal killing of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, who was fatally stabbed aboard Charlotte’s Lynx Blue Line train on August 22, 2025. The suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., a repeat violent offender, now faces both state and federal charges, including one count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system.
