February 19th
On this day,
The Pan-African Congress was held beginning in 1919 to coincide with the Peace talks in Paris after World War I. W.E.B. DuBois was as usual the driving force behind this meeting, with European colonization in Africa as the main topic. Fifty-seven delegates represented fifteen countries. In all, there have been 8 conferences, the last one held in 2014 in South Africa.
OurHistoryMatters.org is a comprehensive knowledge and information enterprise that promotes Africa and African-descended peoples globally. This will be done by enlightening, explaining, expatiating, enquiring, and educating about Global African conditions.
