Pandora's Box - Was she really to blame? Greek Mythology

Listen Later

Pandora and Pandora's box, one of the best known myths from Greek mythology. Opening up Pandora's box is today a well known saying. In modern times, it is a phrase that is used to suggest allowing trouble or complications into a situation. But the origin of the phrase is much more literal, an explanation in Greek Mythology of how evil was able to enter our world. But why did Pandora open the famous box, and is she really to blame? As ever in mythology, the story is never as straightforward as it may appear.

Here at Raconteur, we bring to life the greatest stories from history and mythology to both entertain and educate.
