After five kids, Paola’s mother was basically done with motherhood and was ready to have a life of her own. However, ten years later, she found herself accidentally pregnant again. Her older kids, who were a whole generation older than their baby sister, begged their mother to get pregnant one more time so that their sister could have a friend growing up. She relented and gave birth to her last child – Paola. Growing up, Paola would always be reminded by her mother about the circumstances of her birth and the feeling of being unwanted would put her on a path to try and rise above it and find her inner voice.
