Papaw Paul and Tina Hammonds. Save The Children

Listen Later

Save The Children is a wonderful program that helps kids to learn to read and retain what they read better.
This interview is somewhat different from our regular format, as Papaw Paul sits down and has a conversation with his boss,Tina, from Save The Children about the work they do. Some kids struggle a little more than others and it is quite alright to get a little extra help.
They tell stories of helping kids and the progress that is made. A couple things they have studied are The Titanic, and Code talkers.
As you will hear in this episode they both love the kids and want to help them all grow to be better people.
I'm gonna say they are "2 Awesome Appalachians, giving a leg up on reading, to little Appalachians!"
Save The Children was founded on April 15th, 1919 (104 years ago) by Eglantyne Jebb and Dorothy Buxton in London England.
The organization helps to raise money to improve children's lives by creating better educational opportunities, better health care, and improved economic opportunities. [Wikipedia]
