Oh, the summer sun shines bright,
In the echoes of our play,
Time drifts like a feather,
Playing in the yard,
Nothing in our heads,
Hopefully piss the day away,
So don't you worry, young one,
When the storm clouds start to fall,
For every shadow crossed your path,
There’s a light that breaks the wall.
Like paper cuts and lemonade,
Life's a sweet and bitter trade.
Spend each and every day,
Outside and far away,
From the devil that did dwell,
Inside a house that's made of pain.
So don't you worry, young one,
When the storm clouds start to fall,
For every shadow crossed your path,
There’s a light that breaks the wall.
Like paper cuts and lemonade,
Life's a sweet and bitter trade.
And though the road gets heavy,
And the nights can feel so long,
The stars will guide your weary heart,
To where you belong.
So gather all your stories,
Let them dance upon your soul,
For each scar tells a tale,
So don't you worry, young one,
When the storm clouds start to fall,
For every shadow crossed your path,
There’s a light that breaks the wall.
Like paper cuts and lemonade,
Life's a sweet and bitter trade.
