Two things that our human reason rejects in the story of The Good Samaritan is that we need to look to God's law to guide our actions, and when we look there, we find something that makes us utterly uncomfortable. We'd rather our heart be our guide, and we'd rather live a comfortable numb life. But Jesus' law does demand the impossible, while at the same time His gospel love compels us to live the impossible.
