The Bell Witch is one of the most well known urban legends from the South, regarding a mostly invisible entity that was able to speak, affect the physical environment, and shapeshift and/or may have been clairvoyant and able to be in two places at once. And just to sum up how scary this spirit is, Andrew Jackson once spent the night at the Bell’s farm and was then quoted as saying "I had rather face the entire British Army than to spend another night with the Bell Witch."
