The commentary on this parashah focuses on the instructions for the leadership (priesthood) and the sacredness of the designated times of G-d. Both subjects have important application for today. If the leadership is not holy unto G-d, following His instructions/commands, then the masses will tend to follow the same behaviors. Similarly, if the leadership does not follow the sacred times of G-d, the masses will decide whether or not to change the specific holy days to their liking, or even eliminate them altogether. Examples are provided in this commentary that show just how far our society has fallen, embracing secular humanism over G-d and his Torah/instructions.
