In this teaching we learn the difference and dangers of being a zealot and acting impulsively, versus an instinctive love for G-d and His Torah/instructions/laws. This is an extremely important lesson for those who are taking up arms and believing that force and might can win over the spirit of the L-rd. We are given Elijah as a perfect example in this lesson from which to draw wisdom in a battle situation.
