Edwin Loyola opens up about his foray into photography contests, his motivations and challenges before nabbing a spot in a National Geographic contest/workshop in the U.S. He also discusses the fun and pitfalls of photo competitions, and dishes advice on how to get that award-winning photo.


An L.A. - based Filipino photographer, Edwin Loyola started joining competitions in the 1990s, rising from finalists to champion. He doesn't see himself stopping from competitions anytime soon.
