I didn't go quiet because I ran out of things to say. I went quiet because life asked more of me than I could hold publicly.
So this one is a coming back. And I'm starting with the thing I've been sitting in for months.
My son turns eighteen. He's in the run-up to the exams that could shape everything he's dreamed of. The grinding months. Late nights, past papers, a house quietly rearranged around him. And I have spent this whole season holding a boundary with one hand and the bond with the other, terrified that gripping one too tightly would cost me the other.
Here's what I'm learning. They were never two separate jobs. They are the same job.
In this episode I talk about the line that keeps moving, and why it was never mine to draw alone. About walking on eggshells and getting it wrong more than once. About the grief that nobody warned me sits underneath the pride when your teenager starts bridging into adulthood, spending their weekends out, living their life exactly as they should.
Nobody prepared me for what this part of motherhood actually feels like. From the outside it looks simple. Inside, it's one of the most complex emotional dances I've had to do as a parent.
If you're parenting a teenager through exam stress, or you're feeling that quiet ache of letting go while trying to hold them steady, this one is for you.
You are allowed to feel proud and heartbroken in the same breath. Both are true. Both get a seat at the table.

Why does it feel like the child who once couldn’t stop talking now only answers with a shrug, an eye roll, or a slammed door?
If you’ve ever wondered “What happened to my chatty child?” or even whispered “Did I do something wrong?” — this episode is for you.
In today’s conversation, Enda pulls back the curtain on what’s really going on when teens go quiet — and why silence doesn’t mean rejection. With warmth, honesty, and nearly three decades of experience walking alongside teenagers and their families, Enda shares eight simple, research-backed strategies that help you reconnect with your teen without turning every chat into a tug-of-war.
You’ll discover why timing, tone, body language, and even movement matter more than you think — and how curiosity can build trust where control builds walls. These aren’t quick fixes, but steady shifts that invite your teen to feel seen, safe, and understood.
If you’re tired of one-word answers and want more real conversations with your teenager, this episode will remind you: connection is still possible, even in the quiet seasons.

These aren't textbook lessons; they're lived, breathed, and witnessed in thousands of real-life moments with teens and parents just like you.
Inside the episode, you'll hear:
✨ Why a teenager's pushback is often a test of love, not rejection
✨ How to reframe "disrespectful" behaviour into communication you can respond to
✨ The small, consistent actions that build lifelong trust
✨ Why independence doesn't mean disconnection
✨ The question every teenager carries in their heart (and how you can answer it daily)
