Sleep disorders burden women more than men

Sleep disorders affect men and women differently.  Women end up with severe depression and more daytime sleepiness than men.  We girls also have more difficulty concentrating on work when we’re sleep-deprived.  We suffer more, but it’s actually men’s snoring that seems to be the cause of our sleep problems.  If you’re having sleep issues, start treating your husband’s snoring and find another place to sleep. 53% of American couples have a sleep divorce meaning that they sleep in different rooms or in different beds.  In the case of snoring, it’s likely to be a different room, but you’ll still need a white noise machine or a fan to mask the sound of snoring.  Perhaps he needs a CPAP machine or surgery to correct the condition because sleep apnea is a killer.  Consistent sleep deprivation is related to a number of devastating health conditions.  Don’t suffer in silence.
