Sugar. We love it, but hate what it does to us. Diabetes, heart disease, skin problems, inflammation and weight gain. It should be number 1 on the Bad Food list. When you eat those wonderful white crystals, your blood sugar spikes, you get a burst of energy and then a quick crash. Most of us run that blood sugar up and down all day like some kind of crazed EKG. When you crash, you go looking for more, just like an addict. That’s us. Go cold turkey? No never. But, maybe a 3-day detox might help you cut it down a bit. For 3 days, don’t eat any food with more than 15 grams of sugar per serving. Goodbye soda, booze, pastries, and juice. Substitute avocado, nuts and chicken. You’re gonna feel kinda achy and irritable and you’ll likely fall off the wagon, but teeny tiny baby steps will improve your health dramatically.
