Topic - Birth Complications Cause Autism.

Babies who had complications during birth, were 10% more likely to develop autism than kids who didn’t experience problems. 

Mother’s high blood pressure and baby’s lack of oxygen at birth played a strong role in the development of autistic behaviors. 

Other complications include premature separation of the placenta from the uterus, abnormal size or position, or the umbilical cord was collapsed or came out before or at the same time as baby. 

While the relationship between these complications and autism is unclear, what is clear is that if a child had problems before labor began, their chances of autism increased to 22% and babies who experienced issues before and during birth had a whopping 44% increase in the diagnosis.
