Topic - Women Get Sicker Than Men

Men and women come down with infections at about the same rate, but women suffer worse symptoms for longer periods of time. 

For days one and two, you both feel terrible.  From day three and beyond, women feel worse. 

The reason that dads get better faster might be related to hormonal differences.  These differences may impact the immune system’s reaction to infection. 

Situational factors likely play a role.  Women tend to be responsible for both work and home life and are stretched thin. 

Minimal sleep and eating on the run, along with significant stressors creates havoc with the immune system. 

And, when women get sick, the responsibilities don’t go away.  Kids still need to be fed, laundry done, dishes washed and homework completed. 

Everything is a number one priority.  Even when you’re sick, mom, you’ve gotta keep going.
