Topic - Toddler’s Screen Time Linked To Speech Delay

The more time children under the age of two years spend on digital devices, the more likely they are to develop language processing disorders. Considering that twenty percent of toddlers use handheld screens for an average of thirty minutes a day, it’s time for caution. With every half hour of use, the potential for an expressive language delay increases by fifty percent. This means that kids don’t develop the vocabulary or overall language skills they need to express their ideas, knowledge, opinions and what they want. It leads to frustration and definitely affects their school performance. Additionally, kids ages 6 months to 3 years who spent time using mobile touch screen devices got less sleep at night. These results also apply to older kids. Don’t take chances. No screens before eighteen months old!
