Without the catalyst generated by an Op-Ed piece placed in the San Francisco Chronicle in 1999, the two founders of Parents for Public Schools San Francisco (PPSSF), Sandra Halladey and Deena Zacharin, would not have been able to generate the interest and funding to start PPSSF.
