He is now a pastor and speaker.  Tom and I enjoyed having him on the podcast today. Tom and I sat down with him and talked about being newly diagnosed, and I felt he had some great insight that I think of jaded parkies who have had it for a while we're missing. Hello everyone. Today, in episode 4, we have a lovely guest named Lorraine Wilson. She is also an ambassador for the Davis Finney Foundation. She is going to sit down with us and talk about Parkinson's. Specifically, she will talk about how to start a support group. And all of the ups and downs she has had in her experience with her support group. She is a wealth of information on so many different topics. When Tom said Lorraine would sit in with us today, I couldn't remember who she was because I am awful with names. But as soon as she entered the episode, I remembered exactly who she was. She has been a tremendous mentor to me as an ambassador, a great friend, and an encourager on my journey with Parkinson's. She has given me great support and ideas for starting my support group. She is always entertaining to talk to. And I agree with Tom. She is one of my favorite people, and among the most fabulous ladies I know. Tom and I, Katrina, sit down and talk about Parkinson's fatigue. Do you ever feel like you're tired of being tired? That's How both of us feel today.  My dyskinesia was much better today. I do feel very thankful for that. This week, Tom and I sit and talk about my dyskinesia symptoms that keep popping up throughout the episode. You can see me adjust my deep brain stimulators with my iPod live and in person. You get to see what dyskinesia looks like up close and how you must deal with it sometimes and keep going.  It reminds me of this dear gift I got this week. This is the Park Right Here podcast relaunch episode 1 with Katrina Rochon,  age 54 diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's in 2011and Tom Cosentino, age 64 diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015. We sit down and share our knowledge about our journey with this extremely complicated disease called Parkinson's. We are both ambassadors for the Davis Phinney Foundation out of Colorado. This is not sanctioned or endorsed by the Davis Phinney Foundation at this time. We just sit down and share and try to inform and share our knowledge and experience and encourage and educate the Parkinson's community and caregivers worldwide! It is our heart to spread more awareness and advocacy of Parkinson's. After being off air for some time, I'm bringing you a shorter episode...updating you on where I've been, what's been going on....and ideas for the future of the podcast.  Let's reconnect!

Welcome back! Episode 2! This week I am going to begin to talk about the different aspects of Parkinson's. I will start off discussing the five stages. I will also talk about some of the premotor, non-motor, and motor symptoms of Parkinson's. I will be talking about how many people are affected by Parkinson's in the US and worldwide. I hope I made it entertaining by adding a couple of my stories. This is a pretty deep and not always fun topic,  but I do believe it is very important 4 not just us as Parkie's, but everyone involved in the Parkinson's community to be educated on the latest statistics and information that is out there.  You will hear me say this a million times. You are your own best Advocate. It is also our responsibility to be educated and know what's going on with the illness that we deal with on a daily basis.  Being perfectly honest and also being a nurse for 20 years I can tell you the doctors do not know it all, nurses do not know it all, therapists do not know it all. You know your body the best and you need to be aware of the latest information that's out there. That's one of the biggest reasons I'm doing this podcast and I'm surprising myself a little bit by learning things myself in the second episode. This will be a 2-part episode.
