Wars have been fought in the name of religion. Hated stirred. Divisions caused. Arguments screamed. Yet maybe religion isn't at all what Jesus had originally intended. He calls us not to a religion, but to a relationship. Religion says, "Change and you can join us." Jesus says, "Join us and you can change." Jesus doesn't expect you to be perfect. He just wants you to follow him. Being a sinner doesn't disqualify you from following him. Being an unbeliever doesn't disqualify you from following him. He isn't asking you to follow a religion...He is asking you to follow Him...and He is so much better than religion!
