Summary Part 1 of 2
Katherine Adamek is an American short-track speed skater, two-time Olympic medalist, one silver and one bronze, in the 2010 winter Olympics. She’s also the owner of Fix Your Mindset performance mindset and coaching. She details the time and sacrifices she invested in order to become a n elite athlete, and the lessons she has learned along the way.
My favorite takeaways from this week’s episode:

* It takes a really big goal, a lot of perseverance, and baby steps daily.
* Using mindset shifts in athletic coaching
* Take perfect off the table
* The biggest motivator in becoming an Olympic athlete
* Daily training schedule
* Embrace the suck
* Knowing when you’ve done enough

[15:48] “Perfect isn’t real. It’s a great idea in your mind, but it’s not a real, true, destination. It’s something that we strive for, and that strive for perfection is what makes life fun, but the destination isn’t real. And so that is what helped me eventually figure out that I don’t need put on this facade of perfect.”
