In most black and brown communities in and around Seattle, just like the rest of the nation, these communities constantly experience being under-represented, misrepresented, or ignored entirely; the issues aren’t just below the fold, they are buried entirely, in essence casting them Under the Redline.

Representations of black and other people of color featured “above the fold ” are criticized for either re-enforcing negative stereotypes, or featuring stories and people as token exceptions to the negative stereotypes.
