Welcome to Increasing Affect: A Therapy School Podcast! This is the podcast where we talk about our adventures training to become psychotherapists, with an eye to politics and social change -- how does this show up in therapy school and in the therapy room?

This is the second half of my conversation with my friend Ray. We start off by continuing to discuss collective versus individual healing – can collective healing be tied to the work we do in the therapy room?

We also discuss things like: whether therapists should be activists; can therapists hold hope for their clients; how relationships, including the therapeutic relationship, can create change; neurodiversity in therapy school; and can therapy support people in doing changemaking work outside the therapy room? We finish off with a few questions I want to ask all my guests – what do we wish we knew before starting therapy school? How do we take care of ourselves while in therapy school – and a few recommendations.
