Many biblical themes run all throughout the Scriptures. The theme of covenant is a frequent one.

We see this with the account of David and Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth. Here we see that covenant blessings are beyond us and nothing that we earn. However, the invitation should call us to respond and humble ourselves before the covenant-keeping Creator.
